"The girls really pulled it together in the second half of the meet to come from behind to beat an equally-matched Salem team." Southwestern coach Jay Crawford
Southwestern's swim teams scored a pair of dual meet wins over Salem Thursday at home.
The Rebels cruised 83-43 in the boys meet and then held off the Lions 81-77 in the girls meet. Southwestern swimmers combined to win 13 events.
"We had seven best times tonight, but we expect fewer 'bests' at this time of the season," Southwestern coach Jay Crawford said. "Gianna Bennett, Kaitlyn Deskins, Zach Hamilton, Sarah Schroeder, Mary Sinsel, Taylor Suthard and Ese Taylor all had better swims in an individual event.
