Another offensive outburst fueled Hanover women's basketball team to its ninth-straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory 81-64 over visiting Rose-Hulman on Wednesday at Collier Arena.

Using a barrage of 3-pointers early on from Alicia Hopkins and Madison graduate Kelsey Block, Hanover led 20-5 just six and a half minutes into the contest before another 5-2 spurt put the Panthers on top 25-7 with 12 minutes to play before halftime.

Hanover led 42-33 at halftime before a scoring drought early in the second half allowed Rose-Hulman to cut that lead to four with 18 minutes to play.

Hanover then responded in a big way as Megan Caudill and Caitlin Bischoff combined for four consecutive baskets to spark a 19-4 run that gave the Panthers a 61-42 lead at the 10:51 mark.

The Engineers were never closer than nine points the rest of the way as the Panthers' held firm for the 17-point win.

Hanover had five players score in double figures led by Caudill's 17 points. Block came off the bench to score 12 while Hopkins stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, six assists, six steals and five rebounds. Austin graduate Jessie Davidson, a freshman, and senior Elyse Weddle added 10 each.

Gracie Gibbs, Lauren Meadows and Sheree Williams led Rose-Hulman with nine points each.

Hanover hosts Anderson on Saturday.
