Local Red Cross blood donation

With Thanksgiving and the holidays approaching, the American Red Cross urges donors to continue to make and keep appointments now and in the weeks ahead to help overcome the ongoing emergency blood and platelet shortage that has significantly impacted the nation’s blood supply. In fact, the current blood supply is the lowest the Red Cross has seen this time of year in more than a decade. Dates, times and locations of blood drives are:

Trash cards for Jefferson County residents are now on sale in the County Auditor’s Office at the Jefferson County Courthouse. Trash cards will also be sold at trash pickup sites throughout the county during November — remaining dates are Nov. 18 at Rykers’ Ridge and Nov. 19 at Canaan and Brooksburg. Trash cards cost $50 per year and are effective in 2022 from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.

All trash card sales outside the Courthouse must be by correct change or check. No credit cards will be accepted for remote sales.


Deer Management Hunt
