Jefferson County Republican Women were one of 17 clubs recognized earlier this month by the Indiana Federation of Republican women with the Sapphire Award for recognition of the club’s achievements in 2022.
JCRW president Debi Brim of Hanover accepted the award for 2022 from IFRW vice president Sovilla Mennen. During the year in which the honor was earned, Sharon Daghir of Madison was president of the Jefferson County group. Patti Frazier was awards chairman.
Jefferson County Republican Women achieved its largest membership ever during 2022, with 57 members. The club is active in supporting Republican candidates for office and educating women about political engagement. The group also supports community projects such as Jefferson House, Ruth Haven and Wreaths Across America.
Othrer current officers are: Tamara Duquette, vice president; Cavela Schneider, secretary; Laura Hodges, provisional treasurer with Sunny Helstrom taking over duties as treasurer soon.
