The Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter currently has a number of dogs and cats and kittens available for adoption.

Brent and Brenton are three-month-old brothers that love to play. They will chase each other tackling toys and each other until they wear themselves out and then it’s snuggle time. Both siblings are looking for their furever home.

The shelter is currently in need of dry cat food and kitten food. Donations may be left outside of the yellow door at the shelter, 2727 Hannah Drive, Madison, and a staff member will collect them.

Volunteers are always welcome at the shelter. Individuals must be at least 16 years old to volunteer. Volunteers can help with everyday cleaning, answering phones, and exercising the pets. Contact the shelter for details.

Those with missing pets can call or email a complete description of the pet, when and where it was last seen, the owner’s name and contact information, and a picture of the pet. Pets are held for three days before they are made available for adoption. Animals should not be abandoned outside of the shelter or dropped off at the shelter after hours.
