The Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter currently has a number of dogs and cats and kittens available for adoption.

Tiggie, a 5-year-old male, loves to be with people and cuddling in their lap. He has already been neutered and has an adoption fee of $45.

Mitchell is a big boy who loves to play and is looking for a forever home. His adoption fee is $30 plus the cost of neutering and rabies vaccination at the vet of your choice.

The shelter is in need of wet and dry kitten food. Donations may be left outside of the yellow door at the shelter, 2727 Hannah Drive, Madison, and a staff member will collect them.

Volunteers are always welcome at the shelter. Individuals must be at least 16 years old to volunteer. Volunteers can help with everyday cleaning, answering phones, and exercising the pets. Contact the shelter for details.

Those with missing pets can call or email a complete description of the pet, when and where it was last seen, the owner’s name and contact information, and a picture of the pet. Pets are held for three days before they are made available for adoption. Animals should not be abandoned outside of the shelter or dropped off at the shelter after hours.
