Indiana Dept. of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. recently announced lane restrictions on Interstate 64 in Harrison County for a box culvert replacement project.
Beginning on or around Monday, May 22, crews were to begin work on the eastbound right lane of I-64 near Corydon between Gethsemane Road and mile-marker102 (Rosenbarger Hill). During construction, crews will close the eastbound right lane to replace the first section of culvert.
Once work is complete on the eastbound right lanes, work will shift to the eastbound left lane. Traffic will be restricted to one lane at a time.
Work is expected to be complete by the end of July, weather permitting.
The contract was awarded to E&B Paving Inc. for $1 million and also includes pipe work on I-64 near Leavenworth, which is scheduled to begin following completion of the box culvert.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
