A 26-year-old Trimble County man has died from injuries he sustained Monday in a head-on collision with a semi on Madison’s hilltop.

Holden Kelly Short, 26, of Bedford, Kentucky, died Tuesday afternoon at University Hospital in Louisville after being transported there from a crash on Lanier Drive in Madison at 9:31 a.m. Monday.

According to Madison Police, Short was traveling southbound on Lanier Drive just south of the Crozier Avenue intersection, when for unknown reasons his Honda car crossed over the center line into an oncoming northbound semi tractor trailer driven by Mcsenh D. Tang, 54, of Louisville. Tang was not injured in the head-on crash but Short sustained multiple compound fractures to his extremities as well as internal injuries.

Madison Police Sergeant William Watterson is leading the investigation and Clifty Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene. The accident investigation is ongoing including standard toxicology tests on both drivers.
