A City of Madison Street Department truck plows snow Thursday while clearing downtown streets of the icy mixture that fell on Wednesday night, adding to the 6 inches of snowfall the area received on Monday. Most city streets were clear and dry by Thursday night but the weather forecast is calling for more icy precipitation and extreme cold temperatures this weekend and into next week with up to two inches of snowfall predicted for Sunday and another 5.7 inches on Monday. Meanwhile, the projected high temperature on Sunday is 26 degrees with a low of 15, a high Monday of 18 with a low of 11 and a high of 21 and low of 5 on Tuesday.
