With a mix of light rain and snow forecast for Wednesday night and today, Indiana Department of Transportation crews were out soaking highways with chemical deicers Tuesday afternoon, including this stretch of US 421 from downtown Madison to Madison’s hilltop. Bitter cold weather is expected to arrive on Christmas Day with tonight’s low of 18 degrees to hang around as the high on Friday when the overnight low will dip down to 12 degrees.
