Flag Waving

A Madison Police Department patrol vehicle leads a convey of vehicles down Madison’s Main Street carrying local veterans in a parade from Prince of Peace Schools on the hilltop through downtown Madison on Monday. Originally scheduled for Veterans Day at the school, the parade was postponed by a recent spike in COVID-19 cases at the schools. Local schools normally hold several programs to honor local veterans but the coronavirus pandemic disrupted all that with schools either locked down to visitors or students out of buildings in favor of safer online learning. Previously the Madison Elks held a free breakfast and the local VFW a free lunch for veterans, both on Veterans Day.
