Jefferson County’s tourism industry continues to draw huge numbers — based on another record month of innkeepers tax collections in July — the Jefferson County Board of Tourism (JCBT) was told at Monday’s meeting.

Collections in July totaled $67,276.10, an increase over last year’s then record $51,319.22 taken in during July. For the year, the innkeepers tax has collected $325,414.97 in 2022 — $50,000 more than last year’s seven-month total of $243.657.17 — when a record $537,606.48 was generated by the innkeepers tax over the entire 12 months.
