Alice Marie Sporleder, 80, of North Vernon died at 7:35 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2021, at Hickory Creek at Madison.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Mitch Harrell officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Friday, December 17, 2021. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs. Sporleder was a 1959 graduate of North Vernon High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Zenas Baptist Church in Zenas and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, doing laundry, working crossword puzzles, collecting hobnail milk glass and hummingbirds, and taking care of children.

Born October 17, 1941, in Jennings County, Mrs. Sporleder was the daughter of Ira and Ellen Suhre Vanosdol. She married Oliver Sporleder Jr. August 20, 1961, at the Zenas Baptist Church in Zenas; he preceded her in death June 10, 2015.

Survivors include her son, Nathan Sporleder of North Vernon; daughters, Jennifer Morris of North Vernon, and Tamarie (Edward) Wooddell and Kimberly (Darrin) Reeves, both of Butlerville; brother, James (Judy) Vanosdol of Butlerville; sister, Mary Cornett of Westport; grandchildren, Kirsten (Jesse) Troutman of Westport, Kadi (Michael) Crooke of Shelbyville, Darin Rae (Brandon) Balser of Greensburg, Jacob (Jenna) Wooddell of Jamestown, Rachaellen (Jeffrey) Murr of Batesville, Hannah (Henry) Keller, Evan (Megan) Sporleder, and Hunter Sporleder, all of North Vernon, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sporleder was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Charles, Robert, and Frank Vanosdol; sister, Margaret Cummings; great grandson, Reeves Crooke; and son-in-law, Ben Morris.
