Scottsburg sent Jennings County back into the loss column at the start of the week, defeating the Lady Panthers 7-3 in a non-conference high school softball game on Monday, April 24.

Jennings County suffered the loss after owning multiple leads. With Jennings County clinging to a one-run lead, Scottsburg erupted for five runs over its last two at-bats to pull away to win the non-conference game.

Mackenzie Matern took the loss in the circle for the Lady Panthers. Matern pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits while registering four strikeouts.

Jillian Brauer pitched four and one-third innings for the Lady Panthers. Brauer allowed two earned runs on four hits while recording three strikeouts.

Jennings County scored three runs on five hits. Matern (one hit), Brauer (one hit, one RBI), Riley Byford (one hit, one RBI), Ashley Meade (one hit), Claire Hack (one hit) and Abby McDonald (one hit) each contributed offensively for the Lady Panthers. Aiding her pitching cause at the plate, Matern doubled.
