Senior Lexi Giltner, far left, placed third overall at the Indiana Girls Wrestling Regionals and advances to the state championship this weekend in Kokomo.

This past Saturday, the Jennings County High School wrestling team hosted JC Super Duals, competing against five other Indiana schools. The Panthers finished with a 4-1 record, and placed second overall in the event.

Jennings County wins came against New Castle, 54-24, West Washington, 60-19, Decatur Central, 36-31, and Greenwood, 59-22. Their only loss of the day came at the hands of Mt.Vernon, 24-55.

Teagan Trotter went undefeated in his five matchups. Evan Sochacki, RJ Barberis, and Gage Gasper all went 4-1. Cayden Blitomn, Lexi Giltner, Bryce Barnes, Colton Ross, Vincent Pittman, and Peyton Hayden all went 3-2 during the event.

Lexi Giltner is looking ahead to this Friday, when she will compete at the Girls Wrestling State Finals at Kokomo. She placed 3rd overall at the girls wrestling regional over the weekend, with her only loss going to the eventual regional champion. We all wish Lexi the best of luck!

Wrestling will be back in action on Saturday at Bedford North Lawrence High School for the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
