The Jennings County Middle School Boys and Girls Track and Field teams are back in action, as they competed on Monday evening at the JCHS Track. The boy’s team beat Batesville Middle School by a score of 65-42, and the girl’s team narrowly lost to Brownstown Central by a score 54-51.
Many first places finishes came for the boy’s team in their win. In the 3200 relay, the team of Kraedyn Young, Ben Juraskovich, Zackary Wahlman, and Brock Maschino took the win. Young also won the 1600 and 800 meter runs. Lane Kirchner took place in the 100 meter hurdles, and Dawson Leak placed first in the 200 meter dash. Juraskovich won the 400 meter dash. In the 1600 meter relay, the team of Young, Juraskovich, Kirchner, and Leak took the top podium spot for the Panthers. Winning field events for the Panthers were Kaiser Daeger in Shot Put and Maddix Elston in the Long Jump.
For the Lady Panthers, it was the team of Sasha Hicks, Maddy McIntosh, Aylah Belding, and Avery Wilhite that found victory in the 4 x 800 meter relay. Hicks won the 1600 meter run, and Belding won the 800 meter run as well. Bella Miller placed first in the 100 meter hurdles. In the 4 x 400 meter relay, Miller, Hicks, Wilhite, and Trinity Burke climbed to the top of the podium for the Lady Panthers.
Both the teams will compete against Scottsburg Middle School today, April 22 at the Jennings County High School Track. The meet will begin at 5 p.m.
