It’s wrestling season in Jennings County, and the team at Jennings County High School is already rolling with two quick wins to begin the season.

Last Tuesday, November 23rd, the Panther wrestling season began at Batesville. The Panthers won in dominant fashion, winning 48-17. Winners for the Panthers were Eli Simmons (113), Lane Kirchner (120), Lexi Giltner, Evan Sochacki (138), RJ Barberis (145), Bryce Barnes (152), Colton Ross, Teagan Trotter (182), and Gage Gasper (220). Pittman and Gindhart were JV winners.

This past Tuesday, the Panthers hosted Brown County in their first home match of the year. The Panthers once again won in a dominant 60-10 victory. Winners were Simmons (113), Kirchner (120), James Hatton (126), Jonah Mathews (132), Sochacki (138), Barberis (145), Trotter (182), Chris Kiste (195), Gasper (220), and Will Rowlett (285).

The Panthers are now set to compete in the Jeff Duals at Jeffersonville High School. The meet will take place Friday night at 6:30 p.m. and will continue on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
