While the Lady Panthers got two big wins over the past week, the story of the week for girls basketball was that of star junior Juliann Woodard hitting the 1,000 point mark.
Future Division-I talent Woodard scored her 1,000th point during the Lady Panthers Tuesday night game against Rushville. The last 1,000 point scorer was Addyson Kent, who hit the mark during her senior year in 2021.
NEW ALBANYThe Lady Panthers traveled south to New Albany for their second HHC matchup of the season, and defeated the Bulldogs, 69-53. An injury to Woodard saw limited playing time throughout the first half, and zero minutes in the second half, and it took top performances from Maddie McIntosh and Mollie Ernstes to secure the win.
Jennings County took a 26-22 lead into the halftime break, and ran away with the game in the final two quarters, out scoring the Bulldogs 43-31.
