Lloyd “George” “Dodah” Watts, 71, of Commiskey, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, in Jennings County.

George was born July 11, 1951, in the region of Lake County, City of Gary, to the late James R. Watts and Barbara E. Squires Watts.

George moved to Jennings County in 1954 and graduated from Jennings County High School in 1969. He retired from Cummins Engine Company on February 1, 2000, after 30 years. He worked as a shop steward and rigger. He was a proud member of the DWU (Diesel Workers Union) and was known by the nickname of “Dodah”. He was also of member of the NRA. George enjoyed target shooting, and motorcycle rides. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Crystal (Alex) Smith of Commiskey; sons, Jerry (Vonnie) Monday of North Vernon and Jack Monday of SC; step-mother, Myrtle “Marilyn” Watts of North Vernon; brothers, Jim (Linda) Watts, Robert (Judy) Watts, and Jessiah (Shannon) Watts, all of North Vernon, and Roland Watts of Orange City, FL; sister, Christina (Nick) Megal of Hayden, grandchildren, Hailee Smith, Dominic Smith, Lydia Smith, Elaina Smith and Mason Smith, all of Commiskey; uncle, John Dix of Merrillville; eight nephews, two nieces; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol McIntosh; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were in care of the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Memorials may be made in honor of George through the funeral home for expenses.
