Last week, the Jennings County High School boy’s golf team competed in two matches, going 3-1 over the course of the events.
On Monday the 24th, Jennings County traveled south to take on Shawe Memorial and Scottsburg High School. The Panthers came in 2nd, scoring a total of 175, falling just short of Scottsburg’s 168. Brett Silvey was lead man for the Panthers, shooting a 41. Other scores for the Panthers were Chad Gasper, 42, Jack George and Jake Grider, 46, Tanner Stearns, 47, and Rowan Cook, 57.
On Wednesday the 26th, JCHS hosted Trinity Lutheran and Shawe Memorial at St. Anne’s Golf Course, and won the event with a score of 165. Brett Silvey and Jake Grider both medaled with a score of 39, which was also a new personal best for Grider. Chad Gasper also shot his personal best with a 41. Other scoring were Jack George, 46, Tanner Stearns, 48, and Rowan Cook, 56.
The Panthers will compete on Monday in the Madison Sectional held at Sunrise Golf Course. The Panthers will begin teeing off at 11 a.m.
