It was a busy weekend for the Panthers as they competed against the #7 ranked 3A basketball program at home before traveling to Center Grove on Saturday.

Friday night welcomed the Braves of Brownstown Central to Charles W. Hurley Gymnasium, and a hot second quarter helped propel the Panthers to a 75-66 victory.

“Defensively we played really well,” noted head coach Josh Land.

On the scoring end, it was freshman Carter Kent leading the stat sheet with 21 points, and shooting 71% from behind the arch. “Every game Carter plays, I trust him more. Our depth has been really helpful to us down the stretch,” mentioned Coach Land.

Others scoring for the Panthers were Keegan Manowitz (12), Owen Law (12), Carson McNulty (12), Cole Sigler (6), Darius Thomas (5), Lane Zohrlaut (4), and Jacob Vogel (3). Zohrlaut and Vogel each had four rebounds, and Law had six assists. Manowitz, Law, and McNulty each hit the 100 total point mark for the 2021-22 season during the game.

The following night saw the Panthers at Center Grove, a team whose 5-4 record going into the game wasn’t a hint for just how good the team was. The Panthers lost, 71-48.
