Jennings County came up short as Providence held on to win 6-5 on Wednesday, April 12.

The Panthers nearly battled back from behind on the road, plating two runs in the top half of the seventh inning.

Owen Kipper took the loss on the mound for the Panthers. Kipper allowed two earned runs on five hits while recording five strikeouts over three innings.

Along with Kipper, Ashton Cohee pitched for the Panthers. Cohee allowed two earned runs on four hits while recording four strikeouts over three innings.

Cohee (one hit, two RBIs), Sam Burkman (two hits), Austin Byford (one hit, one RBI), Lane Zohrlaut (one hit), Keegan Manowitz (one hit) and Zane Weinhorst (one RBI) each contributed offensively for the Panthers.

Silver Creek 2, Jennings County 0: Jennings County was held scoreless as Siver Creek prevailed 2-0 on Tuesday, April 11.

Visiting Silver Creek crossed home plate in the top half of the second inning to move ahead 1-0.

Extending its lead, Silver Creek scored again in the top half of the sixth inning.

Austin Byford started on the mound for the Panthers and took the loss. Byford pitched six innings, allowing one earned run on two hits while recording four strikeouts.

Closing the game out on the mound for Jennings County, Owen Kipper pitched one inning in relief.

Jennings County was held to three hits. Byford, Lane Zohrlaut and Zane Weinhorst provided one hit apiece for the Panthers in the shutout loss.
