Readers, you’ve told us you want an opinion page. Some of you feel your voice has been taken out of the newspaper and that the most important part of the community newspaper — the community — is gone. We do value our community’s voices and want to include you.

So allow us to introduce the new “Question of the Week.” Every week on Page A2 there will be a new, thought-provoking, community-driven question for readers to ponder and email in their responses. We know some of our readers are not tech savvy, however, it is imperative that we receive written feedback via an email to keep things quick and efficient for our limited office staff. Additionally, please read our policy regarding the new Question of the Week.

Question of the Week responses to the North Vernon Plain Dealer & Sun should be limited to 200 words or less. Responses over the word limit may be cut at the newspaper’s discretion and all responses are subject to editing for style, spelling and grammar and responses containing blatantly offensive or inappropriate content, will not be published. All responses must be signed by the writer, with address and phone number provided for verification only. Responses will be printed with the author’s name and city of residence. Anonymous responses will not be published. Responses that contain statements that are libelous or slanderous will not be published, nor will responses that include attacks of a personal nature.
