Red Kettle starts again

Red Kettle Coordinator Eric Jarboe and his grandson, Beren Jennings, invite you to continue the tradition of Ringing the Red Kettle Bell.

The Jennings County Service Extension Unit of the Salvation Army invites you to “Continue the Tradition” of ringing the Red Kettle Bell. Sixty families were assisted in 2022 because community members volunteered to collect donations in the Red Kettles. 120 volunteers and the countless Jennings County shoppers who donated $10,120.31 to make the assistance possible.

The Red Kettle drive would not be possible without the cooperation of the North Vernon Walmart and the North Vernon Walgreens. The Red Kettle Campaign is November 25 through December 24 (excluding Sundays). Walmart hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Walgreens hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers can participate by scheduling ringing shifts at www.registertoring.com<http://www.registertoring.com>. The website allows you to choose a date, a location, see available shifts, and choose shifts. While navigating the website, be sure to advance the screens by clicking the Red button. Two hour shifts are recommended. Suggestions for successful ringing is available on the website.

The Jennings County Service Extension Unit of the Salvation Army is based at the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. Monies are dispersed according to Salvation Army guidelines on a monthly basis. Jarboe expressed, “It is the Red Kettle volunteers that make Salvation Army’s service to Jennings County possible. God bless you as you serve by ringing the Red Kettle Bell.”
