9 year old Sawyer Bohall is making a name for himself in the area after taking the top spot in the Jennings County Kart Track youth championship just a couple weeks ago.

“I was just happy, but I couldn’t move around because I was in my go-kart when I found out,” said Sawyer in regards to finding out he had won the championship.

Bohall, a third grader at Seymour’s St. John’s Sauers Lutheran School, took up go-kart racing a year ago, following in the footsteps of his father who also had raced at a young age. Sawyer’s favorite part of racing is winning, and hopes to make it to late model racing eventually.

Over the break, Sawyer has big plans to come back and compete to defend his title next year. “I might get a new go-kart, or build a new go-kart because my brother might start racing next year. And I plan on redoing my trailer.”

Sawyer wanted to make sure to thank his sponsors Family Ford, Showbound Express, Inc., Wehmiller Express, Inc., DNA Cleaning, Blissful Creek Photography, Victor Schneider Beef, and his grandparents.
