Barbara Ann Bliton Lock, 72, of Vevay, Indiana, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1949, in Milan, Indiana, to Faye Wesley “Dude” and Dorothy L. Pelsor Bliton. She was raised in Canaan, Indiana, and was a 1967 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She received her business degree in 1969 from Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, and was employed for Randall’s Textron in Vevay for two years where she met and married Larry Gene “Zero” Lock on Feb. 22, 1969, in Madison. She was employed for US Shoe Factory in Vevay for more than 20 years, was a host for tourists at Grand Victoria Casino & Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana, for five years and was a night auditor for Fairway Inn in Florence, Indiana, for eight years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing video games with her friends on the computer and especially enjoyed writing poems, crocheting and cooking, as well as shopping, quilting and sewing.

Survivors include her daughters, Saundra Denise “Sandy” Hankins of Erlanger, Kentucky and Beverly Ann Stivers of Patriot, Indiana; two brothers, Gary Hanley of New York and Bill Bliton of Texas; and nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years on Feb. 13, 2010; two brothers, Daniel Ardell Bliton and Garnett O. Bliton; and a sister, Sheila Bliton Morris.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery there. Visitation is 11 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
