Brenda K. Dean Shelley Stucker, 75, of Hanover, Indiana, died Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1946, in Jefferson County, Indiana, to Clarence Morris Dean and Doris Jean Brittenback Dean. She resided all of her life in Jefferson County and was a 1964 graduate of Southwestern High School. She married Billy Joe Shelley and they had a daughter and a son. After being widowed she later married Harley Stucker on July 16, 2001. She worked as a secretary in the Southwestern school corporation in Hanover from 1979 to 2009 and most recently at Pope John Preschool in Madison from 2009 to 2021 as an instructional assistant. She was a member of Hanover United Methodist Church and the youth group leader at Kent United Methodist Church for several years. She enjoyed sewing, walking, going to the beach, her pool, word searches and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her second husband of 20 years of Hanover; her daughter Tamara Shelley Josephsen of Madison; her son, Kevin Shelley of Seymour, Indiana; a stepson David Stucker of Madison; her brother, Richard “Dicky” Dean of Hanover, her sister, Deanna Dean Mather of Cape Coral, Florida; and eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband on Feb. 4, 1972.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8 and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
