Candace Marie “Candy” Herrell, 43, of Inverness, Florida, died Monday, May 17, 2021, from a massive stroke at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida. She was an organ donor and on May 19, 2021, she saved three lives.

She was born April 14, 1978, in Homestead, Florida, to SFC Joseph B. Herrell II USA RET and Bonnie Y. Griffith. She was raised in multiple places but always called Madison, Indiana, home. She was a 1997 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. In March 1998 she had a daughter with her high school sweetheart, David Owens. She married Michael Eldridge in October 1999 and had two more children. She moved to Inverness in the spring of 2017 where she worked for Home Instead. She enjoyed going to the beach, relaxing on the tube in the many surrounding springs, spending time with her partner, facetiming her grandson and catching up with her family and friends through social media and on the phone.

Survivors include her lifelong partner, Christopher Bradner of Crystal River, Florida; her daughters, Haley Owens of Madison and Sabrina Eldridge of Columbus, Indiana; her son Trenton Eldridge of Columbus; her mother of North Vernon, Indiana; her sisters Kimberly Herrell of Vevay, Indiana and Brandi Santiago of Interlachen, Florida; her brother, Brian Griffith of Alexandria, Virginia; and a grandson, her aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, a great niece and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1996; her paternal grandfather Joseph B. Herrell in 1998, her paternal grandmother Delores Herrell in 1994, her maternal grandfather Frank Griffith in 2009, her maternal grandmother Juanita Griffith in 2015; and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Visitation is 4 p.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
