Cheryl Lynn Patterson Bruther, 53, of Milton, Kentucky, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.

She was born May 26, 1967, in Madison, Indiana, to Harley George and Mabel L. Clubb Patterson. She had resided most of her life in Jefferson County, Indiana, and was a 1987 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She had attended Ivy Tech and received certification in computers. She married William Douglas Bruther on March 15, 1995, in Clarksville, Tennessee, and they had a daughter. She had worked early in life as manager of Arco Business Supplies in Madison, then for 20 years as secretary for Prickett Construction and the past 10 years as supervisor of shipping for North American Stainless. She resided the past five years in Milton, and had served as a past president of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion in Madison. She enjoyed her grandchildren, going shopping, lottery scratch offs and going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband of 24 years of Milton; her daughter, Chelsea Nicole Bruther Abbott of Hanover, Indiana; her stepdaughters, Jennifer Bruther of Hanover and Caitlin Bischof of Virginia; her sisters, Virginia E. “Ginny” Bruce of Milton, Wanda K. Adams of Madison and Carolyn F. “Peeps” Jessup of Hanover; and three grandchildren; two step grandchildren, her aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Marvin Ray Patterson and her half sisters, Audrey Nelson Porter and Pat Fisher.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
