Charles Brennen “Chuck” Pickett, 82, of Vevay, Indiana, died Thursday, April 29, 2021, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

He was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Vevay, to Joseph B. and Evelyn “Eva” Romans Pickett. He was raised in Switzerland County and schooled there. He married Alberta Avalon Wiley on Nov. 15, 1969, in Vevay, Indiana. He was employed for the Switzerland County Highway Department for eight years, Pierson-Hollowell in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, for several years and for SETA in Vevay. He was a member of the Florence Church of Christ in Florence, Indiana. He enjoyed farming, watching westerns and John Wayne movies, gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Rininger of Vevay; his stepson, Steven Fields of Rising Sun, Indiana; and two grandchildren; six step grandchildren; his great grandson; 13 step great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years on Jan. 9, 2021; his sisters, Beulah Jane “Janie” Miller, in 1990, Mary K. Jones, in 2009 and Betty Jo Lewis, in 2010.

Funeral services were Monday, May 3, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment was in the Florence Cemetery in Florence.
