John David “Dave” Feuerstin, 65, of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, May 27, 2021, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

He was born on Oct. 28, 1955, in Madison, to John William and Bonnie O’Dell Cutshall Feuerstin. He was raised in Madison and graduated from Madison Consolidated High School in 1973 where he served on the debate team. He received his bachelors in education from Indiana University and served on their debate team as well. He was married to Debra Sue Reuter on May 8, 1976 in Madison, and they had two sons. He had worked as a teacher with the Madison Consolidated School System and the New Horizons Program, teaching Spanish and social studies. He

was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Madison and enjoyed antiques, hydroplane racing, collecting racing buttons and loved IU basketball and Reds baseball. He enjoyed being a member of the American Speedy

Button Fan Club.

Survivors include his sons, Jeremy David Feuerstin and Justin Brian Feuerstin, both of Madison; his grandson, Jedidiah Newton Feuerstin of Madison; his step grandchildren, Katelynn Sharfe and MaKayla Sharfe; his former wife and mother of his sons, Debra Sue Reuter Feuerstin of Madison; and his aunts and uncles, several cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents, Dr. Samuel Holmes Feuerstin, on Dec. 22, 1960 and Pauline E. James Feuerstin, on Dec. 31, 1984.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on

Saturday, June 5, at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. Interment will follow in the Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison and 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the

church.
