Dennis R. Duke, 63, of Edinburgh, Indiana, died Sunday, Oct.10, 2021.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1958, in Madison, Indiana, to Donald Duke and Carol Duke Stout. He attended schools in Madison and graduated from Madison Consolidated High School in 1976 where he played basketball and baseball all four years and was named best all-around athlete as a senior. He attended college in South Florida and then managed drug stores in Indiana for several years and most recently was employed at the Jay C Store in Edinburgh. He was a Christian and enjoyed listening to Christian music.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Al Stout, of Taylorsville, Indiana; a son, Sean Duke of Bedford, Indiana; a daughter, Kayla Ross of Orleans, Indiana; a sister, Candice Orem of Dallas; two brothers, David Duke of Columbus, Indiana and Duane Duke of Milton, Kentucky; two stepsisters, Dana Carson and Tammy Lewis, both of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Doug Duke; and a stepsister, Karen Burns.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, at Myers-Reed Chapel in Columbus. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
