Don Allen Amick, 79, of Hanover, Indiana, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover.

He was born March 22, 1941, in Jefferson County, Indiana, to Charles Birdsell “Bud” and Ola Doris Joyce Amick. He resided all of his life in Jefferson County and graduated from Saluda High School in 1959. He married Rosalie Bowman on Dec. 5, 1958, at the New Prospect Baptist Church, and they had two daughters and a son. He had farmed all of his life and enjoyed the outdoors and coon hunting. He worked for a period of time at Hanover College in maintenance and had last worked with his wife in their business, Amick’s Lawn Care. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, the Hanover Masonic Lodge No. 652 F. & A.M. and the Murat Shrine.

Survivors include his son, Brian Amick of Deputy, Indiana; his daughters, Kelly Amick Walburn of Madison, Indiana and Brenda Amick Amos of Hanover; and five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years on Aug. 25, 2017; and a brother, Merle G. Amick.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Madison. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Paynesville, Indiana. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of service on Jan. 7, at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centres in Madison and Hanover.

Hanover Masonic Lodge No. 652 F. & A.M. will conduct services at 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
