Earl Lee Whitton, 92, of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Madison, Indiana, died Saturday, March 13, 2021.
He was born in Bath County, Kentucky, on June 13, 1928, to Holden Lee Whitton and Mary Ethel Royce Whitton. He married Wilma Jean Young and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a supervisor for 35 years at Reliance Electric in Madison. He was a Christian and a member and deacon at Liberty Christian Church in Madison for more than 50 years. He was a past master and member of Union Lodge No. 2 F & AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill American Legion Post 9 in Madison. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling.
Survivors include his son, Anthony E. Whitton; two grandsons, Scott and Brent Whitton; and a brother John R. Whitton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years; a brother, James O. Whitton; and a sister Lorena M. Staton.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville, Kentucky. Burial was at Longview Cemetery in Bethel, Kentucky.
