Eli Gene Campbell, 54, of Austin, Indiana, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at his home in Austin.
He was born July 6, 1966, in Hazard, Kentucky, to Paul and Mary M. Thornton Campbell. He resided most of his life in Austin, Indiana. He married Melda Marie Sizemore on June 3, 1988, in Auburn, Indiana, and they had two sons and a daughter. He had worked in production and farming for 17 years at Rose Acres Farms and then the past 15 years at Tri-Hawk Automotive in production, both in Austin.
Survivors include his daughter, Tanya Campbell of Scottsburg, Indiana; his sons, Thomas “Bub” Campbell of Franklin, Indiana and Christopher “Pete” Campbell of Columbus, Indiana; his brother, Vernon Campbell of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky; and six grandchildren, his aunts and uncles and numerous cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 31 years on March 15, 2019; his brothers, Eddie “Cheetah” Campbell, Ronald Lee Campbell and Tyree “Rusty” Campbell.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, at the Trinity House of God Church in Austin. Interment will follow in the Spurgeon Cemetery in Austin. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and noon until time of services Saturday at the church.
