Emery Dale “Mrod” Myers, 57, of Commiskey, Indiana, near Dupont, Indiana, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Health Emergency Room in Madison, Indiana.
He was born on May 18, 1965, in Bedford, Indiana, to Hubert Leon and Imogene Lucille Burris Myers. He was raised in Mitchell, Indiana, and attended school there. He worked for several years as an over the road truck driver. He had resided in the Dupont/Commiskey community since 2005 and worked for five years as a second shift supervisor at M&M Warehouse before working for Sam House Enterprises for 13 years as a back hoe operator until he retired due to his health. He enjoyed socializing with friends, drinking his spirits, playing poker with friends and smoking cigarettes.
Survivors include his father of North Vernon, Indiana; his brothers, David Myers of Dupont, Roy Myers of Richfield, Utah, Dennis Myers of Summerdale, Alabama and Doyle Myers of North Vernon; his sister, Regina Myers of Bedford; his caregivers and close friends, Sam and Rachel House of Commiskey, Chris Bear and family and Greg Abplanalp and family, all of Dupont; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant brother, Vincent Dee Myers.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Dupont Volunteer Fire Department in Dupont. Interment will follow in the Dixon Chapel Cemetery near Bedford. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the fire department. Arrangements entrusted to Morgan & Nay Funeral Centres of Madison and Hanover.
