Noble Franklin “Frank” Tilley, 82, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.

He was born on March 19, 1939, in Carrollton, to Noble Tilley and Pauline Kopp Tilley-Blankenship. Shortly after graduating from Carrollton High School, he enlisted in the US Air Force, going into active duty on May 31, 1960 until he was honorably discharged on Feb. 3, of 1964, specializing in Ground Command Equipment Repair. He then worked for more than 38 years in the construction industry as a Crane Operator. He enjoyed woodworking and making wooden toys for children. He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include four sisters, Doris Fox and Carolyn Welch, both of Jupiter, Florida, Mary Frances Mefford of Carrollton and Phyllis Perry of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Natalie Faye Tilley, on Nov. 3, 2008; a brother, Joseph D. “Joe” Tilley, on Aug. 4, 2003; and a sister, Ruth Tilley Suter, on Nov. 18, 2018.

Military graveside services will be presented by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post 9 American Legion of Madison, Indiana, at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 7, at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Madison. No formal visitation is planned.
