Virginia “Ginger” Ruth Craig Stockdale, age 76, of Madison, Indiana, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at her home.
She was born on June 21, 1945, in Madison, to Virgil and Ruby Scott Craig. She resided all of her life in Madison and was a 1963 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She married Lyle Edward Stockdale on June 14, 1963, in Madison and they had two daughters. She worked early in life for Ruth Auxier at the Fountain of Flowers and enjoyed making bows and arrangements. She also worked in the reading lab for Madison Consolidated Junior High School, then attended and graduated X-ray School at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital. She began a career with KDH working at all of the clinics before retiring in 2000 after the effects of a stroke no longer allowed her to work. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved researching her family genealogy and was known for her skills in the kitchen. She had battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia since September of 2016.
Survivors include husband of 58 years of Madison; her daughters, Nancy Carole Stockdale Sobeck and Tammy Lynn Stockdale Boldery, both of Madison; her brother, Ronnie Craig of Madison; and five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private services will be conducted at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison.
