Gladys Mae Lark, 87, of Madison, Indiana, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at the River Terrace Health Campus in Madison.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1933, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Price and Jesse Mack Lamb. She was raised in Jefferson County, Indiana, and had worked at US Shoe Factory for several years. She attended the House of James Beauty College and later owned and operated Sandy Gail Beauty Salon. She also worked at Merle Norman, Hair Essentials and most recently Blades Styling Salon, where she retired at age 80. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Madison and enjoyed traveling, cooking, shopping, gardening and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail F. Linville of Madison; her sister, Linda Goens of Lexington; her brother, Bobby Lamb of Madison; and a grandson, a granddaughter, three great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison’s hilltop. Visitation is 5 p.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
