Harriet Anne Nelson Woods, 69, of Milton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.

She was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Corbin, Kentucky, to Edwin Nelson and Margaret Horn Moeller. She was raised in Louisville and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1969 where she excelled in gymnastics and placed third in the state. She was of the Christian faith and moved to Trimble County in 1980. She married Ed Steinmetz on Aug. 19, 1979, and they had a son and two daughters. She later married John Randall Woods on March 29, 2002. She began a career with ATT (formerly Bell South) at age 17 and worked there until 2001. She then owned and operated the Bedford Stop and Go Marathon in Bedford, Kentucky, until her death. She was an avid UK basketball fan, loved to travel, go to Belterra Casino, enjoyed Bunco Club, and loved to socialize.

Survivors include her husband of Milton; her son, Christopher Steinmetz of Lynnview, Kentucky; her daughters, Amanda Stark and Kasse Steinmetz, both of Bedford; her stepdaughters, Andrienne Pounds of New Orleans and Angela Adkins of Madison, Indiana; and three grandchildren, two her step-grandchildren, numerous cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepdad, Gerard Moeller.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Entombment will follow later in the Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
