Holden Kelly Short, 26, of Bedford, Kentucky, died Monday May 3, 2021, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash earlier that day in Madison, Indiana.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1994, in Madison, to Donald Rex Short and Tina Clifford Howard. He was a 2013 graduate of Trimble County High School in Bedford and was employed by Ford Motor Company in Louisville. He was a member of Mt. Byrd Christian Church in Milton, Kentucky. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees fan, loved his family farm, his Mustang, and his dog, Hemi.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Larry D. Howard of Owenton, Kentucky; his father of Indianapolis; three brothers, Garth Drake of Carrollton, Kentucky and Donald Rex “Little Rex” Short and Micah Short, both of Madison; his maternal grandparents, Donald and Diana Clifford of Bedford; and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Gladys Short; a cousin, Elvis Kirby; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, with a private interment to be held at a later date. Visitation is 5 p.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
