Jacob Louis “Jake” Parker, 36, of Patriot, Indiana, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
He was born on June 15, 1985, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Bobby J. “Bob” Parker and Teresa A. Renyer Coy. He was raised in Switzerland County where he was a 2003 graduate of Switzerland County High School. He married Julie Christine See on Aug. 4, 2007, in Patriot, Indiana, and they had a daughter and a son. He was employed as a painter and welder for Aurora Casket Company in Aurora, Indiana, from 2003 to 2006. He later was a welder for Titan Steel in Monroe, Ohio, from 2006 to 2007. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Hilltop Basic Resources in Patriot from 2007 to 2010 and became a certified firefighter in 2009 and volunteered for the Jeff-Craig Volunteer Fire Department in Vevay. He was employed by the Switzerland County EMS from 2010 to 2014 and then as a sealer team member for Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Georgetown, Kentucky, from 2015 to 2018. He was a contributor for Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky, from August 2018 to November 2018 and currently employed as a supervisor for Phoenix at Dorman Products since November 2018. He resided in Georgetown and Williamstown, Kentucky, for a few years until moving back to Switzerland County. He was baptized at the Patriot Baptist Church in Patriot, enjoyed restoring cars and trucks, golfing and spending time with his children.
Survivors include his mother of Patriot; his children, Cheyenne Paisley Parker and Kail Avery Parker of Rising Sun, Indiana; his father and stepmother, Donna Parker, of Independence, Kentucky; his brother, James “Jimmy” Parker of East Enterprise, Indiana; his stepbrothers, Uriah Coy of Greensburg, Indiana and Ben Coy of Columbus, Indiana; and several aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harry Louis Parker and Barbara Ann Duvall Renyer; his paternal grandparents, James Herman Parker and Hazel Viola Keen Parker Cooper; and his stepfather, Allen Coy.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Patriot. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
