Jerry Wayne Gordon, 69, of Beech Grove, Indiana and formerly of Madison, Indiana, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at St. Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on Oct. 6, 1951, in Madison, to Hiram Gordon and Alice McConnell Pope Gordon. He attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and then served in the US Army. In 1997, he retired from Imperial Irrigation District in Indio, California.

Survivors include his mother of Okeechobee, Florida; his children, Mikeal Gordon and Dawn Michael, both of Indianapolis, Tara Hefner of California, Lee Gordon of Columbus, Indiana and Pamela Maloof, of Las Vegas; a sister, Faye Barger of Indianapolis; his twin brother, Terry Gordon of Okeechobee; and 18 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father and his stepmother, Joyce Gordon; his stepfather, Phillip Pope; a sister, Suzanne Denny; and a brother, Kenny Gordon.

Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison’s hilltop. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
