Joseph L. “Doodle” Boldery, 57, of Deputy, Indiana, died Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his home in Deputy.

He was born June 26, 1963, in Madison, Indiana, to Joseph Nathan and Edna Mae Dean Boldery. He attended Southwestern Schools and resided all of his life in Jefferson County, Indiana. He had worked for Spicer’s Saw Mill and in construction with his brother, Terry Dean. He attended Faith Covenant Church in downtown Madison and enjoyed fishing, riding his moped and hanging out with his friends.

Survivors include his father of Madison; three brothers, Terry Dean and Darrell Wayne Boldery, both of Deputy and Steven Boldery of Hanover, Indiana; five sisters, Sandra Boldery of Bedford, Kentucky, Paula Boldery of Madison, Christine Boldery and Erin Rowlett, both of Deputy and Rebeca Kenney of Louisville; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother on Feb. 2, 2019; a brother, Gary Boldery, on March 28, 1999; and a sister, Diana Boldery, on Jan. 28, 1962.

Funeral services were Wednesday, April 21, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, in Madison. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.
