Elizabeth Katherine “Kathy” Adams Dibble, 84, of Madison, Indiana, died Friday, April 23, 2021, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.

She was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Jefferson County, Indiana, to Manford “Jack” Newton and Agnes Elizabeth McCutcheon Adams. She was raised in the Madison community and was a 1955 graduate of Madison High School. She married Edward Leamon Dibble in Madison on Sept. 15, 1957, and they had a son and two daughters. She was a military wife and worked as a retail supervisor for the exchange service on the March Air Force Base in Moreno Valley, California. The family resided in California for 39 years before moving back in Madison in 2005. She loved reading and enjoyed volunteering for the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library. Her other hobby was flowers and she enjoyed decorating her church, First Christian Church of Hanover, with beautiful arrangements.

Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Zehms of Yucaipa, California and Connie Leininger of Madison; her son, Michael Dibble of Castle Rock, Colorado; a sister, Cindy Nolan of Madison; her brother, William Hurley Adams of Madison; and seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years on Dec. 14, 2016; a sister, Lillie Mae “Gracie” Johnson, on May 19, 2017; and other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
