Kathy Sue Mann, 62, of Madison, Indiana, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at her home in downtown Madison.
She was born on May 29, 1959, in Bedford, Indiana, to Harry Addison “Tuck” and Sarah Gail Crown Mann. She was raised in Mitchell, Indiana, and graduated in 1977 from Mitchell High School. She participated in 4-H, showing her sheep and beef cattle, enjoyed playing softball and was raised in the First Baptist Church in Mitchell. She went to culinary school at Sullivan College in Louisville, and became a chef. She worked at the Historic Broadway Hotel and Restaurant in Madison, which her sister Libby Mann had purchased in 1992, and for 20 years at Belterra Casino and Resort, in Florence, Indiana, in food service and as a chef for 10 years. She married Emery D. Myers on Aug. 1, 1997. She was a good cook, loved playing bingo, patriotic, a supporter of former President Donald Trump, had a passion for animals and loved her dog, Sheba, and her cat, Honey.
Survivors include her son, Nathan Addison Mann of Mitchell; her sisters, Sarah Elizabeth “Libby” Mann of Madison, Rose Anne Gootee of North Vernon, Indiana and Rebecca Jane Mann of Plano, Texas; a brother, Donald Richard Mann of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harry Edward “Eddie” Mann, Frederick Lee Mann and Arthur Mann; and a sister, Nancy Kay Mann Cox.
Celebration of life services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison and at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, at The Bride of Christ Fellowship Church in Mitchell. Interment will follow in the Hamer Cemetery in Spring Mill Village in Mitchell. Visitations are 4 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home and noon until time of services Thursday at the church.
