Linda Carole “Red” Justice Gould, 75, of Lexington, Indiana, died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at her home on Getty Road near Lexington.

She was born July 1, 1945, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Arvle Dotson and Katherine Laura Frazier Justice. She was raised in Lowell, Indiana, and graduated from Crown Point High School in 1963 where she served on the debate team. She attended several colleges and obtained her master’s in English from the University of Wyoming. She married Arthur Allen Gould on Sept. 11, 1971, in Crown Point, and they had four children. They moved to Madison, Indiana, in 1979 and later to Hanover, Indiana, in 1993 and in 1999 to Getty Road in Lexington. She worked in administration, substitute, and tutoring in the Southwestern School System. She was a member of the Hanover Baptist Church in Hanover.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Thornberry of Lexington, David R. Thornberry III of Scottsburg, Indiana and Jason Allen Gould of Madison; her brothers, Kenneth D. Justice of St. Anne, Illinois and Ronald E. Justice of Valparaiso, Indiana; seven grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years on Oct. 25, 2016; and a sister, Anita Louise Justice on Dec. 21, 2008.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, at the Hanover Baptist Church in Hanover. Interment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Madison. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison and 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
