Garnet Lucy Klopfenstein, 95, formerly of Portland, Indiana, died Wednesday Jan. 6, 2021, at the Hickory Creek of Madison, Indiana.
She was born in Berne, Indiana, on April 16, 1925, to Lester and Vada Kelly Stuckey. She was a 1943 graduate of Geneva High School, graduated the Methodist School of Nursing in 1946 and married Stan Klopfenstein that same year and they had two sons. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Jay County Hospital Auxiliary and a Red Cross volunteer. She retired in 1984 as a Registered Nurse.
She is survived by a son Ted Klopfenstein, of Madison; and five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years in 1996; and a son, Tom Klopfenstein.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday Jan. 15, at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland.
