Margaret Jean “Marg” McDole Imel, 90, of Madison, Indiana, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1931, in Trimble County, Kentucky, to Jerry and Margaret “Maggie” Alice Mershall McDole. She grew up in Trimble County and graduated from Trimble County High School in 1951. She married Dallas Howard Imel, on Feb. 13, 1954, in Canaan, Indiana, and they moved to Jefferson County in 1955. She retired from Conn Organ after 19 years of service as an assembler/adjuster of keyboard systems. She had previously worked at US Shoe Corporation for eight years as a stamper and cutter. She also worked alongside her husband on their farm, raising tobacco, cattle and hay for many years. She was a member of the former Brooksburg United Methodist Church and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels and loved her dogs. She enjoyed her pet goat, J.J., that she raised.

Survivors include her caregivers and special family members, Larry Hammons, Vickie Riggs, Randy Hammons, Andy Hammons, Kendra Braley, Angie Stuart, Caden Vaughn and Tim and Amanda Marshall; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Dallas Howard “Casey” Imel, on March 20, 2012; her brothers, Owen Silas McDole, Archie R. McDole and George McDole; her sisters, Lillian Bell Chandler, Katherine Minnie Wentworth and Mildred L. Hammons.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison. Visitation is 11 a.m. until the time on services on Saturday at the funeral home.
