Mary Catherine Green McManis, 88, of Vevay, Indiana, died Friday, April 23, 2021, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.

She was born Feb. 26, 1933, to Andrew and Sadie M. Peters Green. She was raised on Plum Creek where she attended Plum Creek School. She married Joseph S. McManis on May 23, 1959, in Kentucky, and they had a son. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting for several families and working on the family farm. She was a member of the Plum Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed word search puzzles, coloring, gardening and watching Jeopardy and spending quality time with her 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son, Joe Eddie McManis of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; three sisters, Alberta Reed of Waldron, Indiana, Linda Poling of near Quercus Grove, Indiana, Lucille Phillips of Vevay; a brother, Ivan Green of Patriot, Indiana; and her several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 30, 1966; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Scott, on June 1, 1960 and Meredith Scudder on April 26, 2010 and five brothers, Marvin Green, on Nov. 27, 1967, Allen Green, on May 15, 1986, Arthur “Buddy” Green, on Aug. 23, 2011, Charles Green, on Oct. 19, 2015 and Galen M. Green, on Nov. 30, 2019.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery there. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
